The Italian Margarita (Better than a Classic?)

If you love a classic Margarita but also have a soft spot for an Amaretto Sour, the Italian Margarita might be your new favourite cocktail.

This clever twist on the traditional margarita recipe adds a subtle almond richness that completely changes the drink’s character. It’s still fresh and citrusy, still unmistakably tequila-based — but smoother, slightly indulgent, and surprisingly well balanced when made properly.

In this video, I break down the Italian Margarita cocktail recipe, show you how to make it step by step, and talk through why it works so well as one of the best cocktails to make at home with tequila. Scroll down for the full video walkthrough, then you’ll find the exact measurements and recipe details underneath so you can try it yourself.
