Puerto de Indias Strawberry Gin Review
I’ve seen this Gin around for a good 12-18 months now, but that confuses me as apparently “They’ve just launched it into the UK Market” – March 2019. But I know Booker Cash & Carry in the UK have had a while. In any case, look out for it, because Puerto des Indias have now just coupled up with Indie Brands and given them £2m to play with on Marketing over the Summer of 2019. So, if they do their job properly, it should be a biggy!

ABOUT THE GIN
Puerto de Indias Strawberry is a beautiful Flavoured Gin from Seville, Spain. It’s 37.5% ABV.
Their Classic Gin was launched in September 2013, with their Strawberry edition launching shortly afterwards in 2014.
The Strawberry Gin uses Puerto de Indias Classic Gin as its base, then infused with fresh Strawberries to create a deep and vibrant flavoured Gin. Puerto de Indias comes out of Seville, in Spain and is now the 4th Biggest selling Gin in Spain. Their Classic Gin as a Base is distilled with plenty of Citrus Botanicals…Lemon, Lime, Orange & Grapefruit then infused with a lovely Strawberries Flavour. Also present, we have obviously Juniper, with Cilantro (Coriander).
The history of the Distillery is that 2 brothers purchased the Distillery to restore it back to its former glory. With the growing Gin Boom in Spain, they saw an ideal opportunity to start their own business, and Puerto des Indias Gin was born.
They found their Strawberry Gin by complete accident. While playing about and trying to perfect their own recipe, they added some mashed up fresh strawberries into a Batch. The result was so good they decided to bottle a few hundred cases and see if they could sell it. Guess what. It Sold. And the rest is history!
AROMA & TASTE
The Gin itself is a really fruity Gin. Upfront I get an ever so slight hit of Juniper on the nose, and then obviously vibrant Strawberries. However, upon tasting it is a wonderfully balanced Gin with a mild Juniper and Pepper finish to make sure the Gin is not overly sweet. A real proper fruity Gin.

HOW TO DRINK PUERTO DE INDIAS STRAWBERRY FLAVOURED GIN
I had a good play with this Gin and found a whole heap of interesting combinations. And while a classic Indian Tonic did work, for me personally, I think you need just a touch of flavours from other Tonic Waters, just to give it that extra WOW. But I promise you. If Indian Tonic Water is your thing. You won’t be disappointed.
